Shafiqur Rahman has been re-elected the amir of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the next three years.

The party鈥檚 chief election commissioner and assistant secretary general, ATM Masum, announced it Saturday night, a press release issued by the party鈥檚 central publicity and media affairs secretary, Motiur Rahman Akand, said on Sunday.


It said that the party members across the country exercised their voting rights through secret ballots between October 9 and October 25.

After the completion of the voting process, the responsible teams counted the ballots.

Shafiqur, a physician by profession, has been re-elected the party amir for the 2026-28 term by bagging the highest number of votes, it said.
