Bangladesh Nationalist Party announced on Saturday a 14-member partial committee for its Rajshahi metropolitan unit with Mamunur Rashid Mamun and Mahfuzur Rahman Riton as the president and general secretary respectively.
Mamun was the member secretary of recently dissolved Rajshahi metropolitan unit鈥檚 convening committee while Riton was the former convener of BNP鈥檚 youth wing Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal鈥檚 Rajshahi metropolitan unit.
The partial committee was announced through a press release signed by BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Saturday.
In the new committee, Nazrul Huda, the former senior joint-convener of the recently dissolved convening committee, has been appointed as the senior vice-president. Aslam Sarkar, Waliul Haque Rana, Ali Ashraf Masum, Shafiqul Islam Shafiq, Abul Kalam Azad Sweet, Muktar Hossain, and Zainal Abedin Shibly have been named as vice-presidents.
Bajlul Huda Montu has been made joint general secretary, Rabiul Islam Milu organisational secretary, and dissolved convening committee鈥檚 convener Ershad Ali Isha and Mainul Ahsan Panna have been made members of the partial committee.
A full committee, the press release noted, will be announced at a later date.
Earlier, the last council of the Rajshahi metropolitan BNP was held on August 10, marking the first such gathering in years for the party鈥檚 city chapter.聽
Saturday鈥檚 announcement came two months and 22 days after the council session.
