Over 500 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the last 24 hours till Friday morning.
The information was revealed in a press release, issued by the health emergency operation centre and control room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
Of the new 506 hospitalised patients, 53 were in Barishal division, 91 in Chattogram, 213 in Dhaka division, outside city corporation areas, 108 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 16 in Dhaka South City Corporation and 25 in Mymensingh divisions, the release added.
During the period, 1,568 dengue patients were released from different hospitals, raising the number of recovered patients this year to 66,802.
In 2025, 69,862 people have been infected with dengue across the country, of whom 65.2 per cent are male and 34.8 per cent female.
No dengue-related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
So far, 278 people have died from the mosquito-borne disease this year in Bangladesh.
In 2024, 101,214 people were infected by dengue in the country, with 575 deaths.
