Dhaka Regional Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh will organise ‘Accounting Day Run 2025’ on November 7 at Hatirjheel in the capital to celebrate International Accounting Day.

The DRC announced this during a press conference held on Wednesday at CA Bhaban, Karwan Bazar in the city, where they also unveiled event T-shirt and medal.

The organisers said that they were proud to launch the first-ever ‘Account Day Run,’ with the theme ‘Fitness Meets Accounting’ to promote awareness of health, wellness and work-life balance.

They said that there’s no doubt that accountants, whether working in corporate roles or in public practice, play a crucial role in advancing our economy and society, enduring intense workloads, stress, and anxiety, frequently at the cost of their personal well-being.

ICAB president NKA Mobin, chairman of DRC Mahmudur Rahman, race director Asifur Rahman, event convenor Sk Md Tariqul Islam, among others, attended the event.

Mobin announced that this year’s Accounting Day would be celebrated uniquely, uniting members of the accounting community.

Mahmudur Rahman stated, ‘This year, we can call it Accounting Week, as there will be a different programme each day of the week-long celebration, including cricket matches and a mental health awareness session.’

Asifur Rahman said, ‘We don’t want to confine accounting to just books. Through this run, we aim to promote awareness around health, wellness, and work-life balance, to foster professional unity and strengthen our social responsibility.’

Tariqul Islam said, ‘The event will feature over 1,800 participants, including Chartered Accountants, students, and corporate professionals. It will include a 7.5-kilometre run for adults and a 1-kilometre run for mothers with children aged 3 to 14 months, creating a unique blend of professional excellence and community spirit.’
