Chattogram beat Rajshahi by 112 runs while the other two games of the first round of the National Cricket League between Rangpur-Dhaka and Mymensingh-Sylhet ended in draws on Tuesday.

Chasing 483 at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium, the hosts were bundled out for 370 in 86.5 overs.

They added 151 runs with the remaining six wickets on the last day as left-arm spinner Hasan Murad claimed three wickets in the second innings to bring his match tally to nine.

Meherob Hasan and Pritom Kumar, the unbeaten batters from the previous day, both fell to Nayeem Hasan after making 60 and 83, respectively. Shakhir Hossain then made 52 but couldn鈥檛 keep Chattogram at bay for long.

Sylhet broke open but couldn鈥檛 draw the killer punch as Mymensingh scored 272-9 in 87 overs in their second innings to earn a draw in their first-ever first-class match at the Sylhet International Stadium.

Starting the day on 58-0, Mahfijul Islam and Mohammad Naim built a 103-run opening partnership to take Mymensingh ahead.

However, Sylhet bounced back by claiming three wickets in 5.1 overs before Abdul Mazid and Ariful Islam blocked them again. Sylhet had another passage of play where they got four wickets in the space of 8.5 overs.

But Ariful played 158 deliveries to score 62 runs and made sure that Mymensingh remained safe. Nabil Samad took four wickets for Sylhet, while Asadulla Al Galib grabbed three.

Rangpur鈥檚 high-octane batting couldn鈥檛 prevail over Dhaka as the bad light brought a premature end at the Outer Ground of the Sylhet Stadium.

Chasing 197, Rangpur scored 115-6 in 26 overs before the umpires called it a day.

Earlier, Tanbir Hyder and Robiul Haque shared seven wickets between them, as Dhaka were all out for 333 in 113.3 overs to take a 196-run lead in the second innings.

Jishan Alam missed out on his hundred by just three runs, while Ripon Mondol scored 42 while coming to bat at nine.

Rangpur captain Akbar Ali used as many as nine bowlers, including himself. He also took the last wicket of Anamul Haque.
