The police arrested a madrassa teacher at Darul Hikma Hafizia Madrassa in the Mawna Crossing area of Sreepur Municipality on Friday allegedly for raping a 12-year-old boy student.
The arrestee is Mohsin, 35, a resident of Netrakona.
Sreepur police station officer-in-charge Muhamamd Abdul Barik said on Saturday that the arrestee was sent to the court on Saturday. He added that victim鈥檚 father filed a case with the police station on Friday.
The victim鈥檚 father said that his son went to Darul Hikma Hafizia Madrassa for his lessons.
鈥楬e was taken to the Madrassa on Friday as usual. My father went there in the afternoon to bring my son back home,鈥� he said. After coming home, the 12-year-old informed that his teacher Mohsin raped him inside the Madrassa.
Upon knowing the incident, the local people held Mohsin and started beating him up before handing him over to the police.
