The Eastern University inaugurated a two-day 7th International Conference on Integrated Sciences on the university campus in Dhaka on Saturday.
The Eastern University has jointly organised the conference with the Gambian International Open University, said a press release.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by vice-chancellor of Eastern University, Professor Farid Ahmed Sobhani.
He highlighted the importance of ethical and human values ​​in the fields of science, business, technology and education.
In addition, video messages were given by the chancellor of IOU, Professor Abu Amina Bilal Phillips and chairman of the Association of Private Universities, Bangladesh, Md Sabur Khan.
Bangladesh Accreditation Council chairman Professor Mesbah Uddin Ahmed was present as chief guest while Eastern University board of trustees member Engineer Khandaker Mejbah Uddin Ahmed and Asian University of Bangladesh founder chairman Professor Abul Hasan M Sadek were present as special guests at the event.
Also present as guests of honour were the vice-chancellors of Daffodil International University, City University, Manarat International University and Asian University of Bangladesh, chief adviser of Presidency University and deputy vice-chancellor of International Open University Professor Muhammad Ahsan.
Also present was Niaz Rahim, group managing director of RahimAfroz Bangladesh Limited.
The keynote address of the conference was presented by Muhammad Imadur Rahman, managing director and chief executive officer, Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited.
