The 27th edition of the National Cricket League four-day version begins with the first round match between debutant Mymensingh Division and Sylhet at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.
Mymensingh will make its debut in the first-class cricket tournament, replacing Dhaka Metro, a decade after achieving division status.
Veteran Mushfiqur Rahim will feature for the last edition champions Sylhet, alongside opener Zakir Hasan and pacers Khaled Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain.
Test opener Shadman Islam will represent Dhaka, while Mahmudul Hasan, Nayeem Hasan, and Hasan Murad will represent Chattogram Division.
Meanwhile, Najmul Hossain Shanto is expected to join Rajshahi from the second round, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz is also set to feature for Khulna Division after the opening fixtures.
In the other first round matches, Dhaka will face Rangpur at the Outer Ground in Sylhet on Sunday. Khulna and Barishal will meet at Khulna Divisional Stadium, while Rajshahi will host Chattogram at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium on October 27, and 28, respectively.
The venues for the NCL include Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Rajshahi Division Stadium, Bogura鈥檚 Shaheed Chandu Stadium, Khulna Division Stadium, Chattogram鈥檚 Birshreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium, and the BKSP Ground-3聽and two grounds of Cox鈥檚 Bazar International Stadium.
