The Bangladesh-China Green Textile Expo (BCGTX 2025) was inaugurated on Thursday in Dhaka, showcasing sustainable and eco-friendly textile technologies and innovations.
Held at the International Convention City, Bashundhara in the Kuril area, the exhibition brought together 39 Chinese and Bangladeshi businesses, including textile and garment companies, investors, technologists, and industry representatives.
The event was jointly organised by Savor International, the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, and Shanghai Climate Week.
In his opening speech, the chief guest, Yao Wen, the Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, emphasized the importance of international cooperation to tackle shared challenges.
He stated that the exchange of Chinese eco-friendly, modern, and cost-effective technology and raw materials would enhance the competitiveness of Bangladesh’s industrial sector.
 ‘Today’s world is undergoing profound changes. No country can develop without a fair, stable, and open international environment,’ Yao added.
Alongside Ambassador Yao, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mijanur Rahman, Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation chairman Brigadier General S M Zahid Hassan, Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce & Industry president Khorshed Alam, Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh president Han Kun, Shanghai Climate Week executive secretary General Guan Jie, Professor Fu Jiajia from Jiangnan University’s College of Textile Science and Engineering and Savor International managing director Md Faizul Alam.
The exhibition, which runs until October 25, will feature eco-friendly and recyclable textile technologies, as well as B2B meetings, seminars, and panel discussions.
Leading entrepreneurs from both China and Bangladesh will actively participate.
The event is open to visitors daily from 10:00am to 7:00pm.
