Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad on Sunday night announced a 20-member new committee for its Dhaka University unit. 

Sadman Abdullah, a geography and environment student of 2019–20 academic session, was announced as president and Mohammad Mahatap Islam, a soil, water and environment student of 2020–21 session, as general secretary in the committee.


The organisation’s central president Bin Yamin Molla and general secretary Nazmul Hasan in a statement approved the committee. 

The statement also said that the committee had been directed to be made full-fledged within a month.

Sadman Abdullah is elected general secretary of Salimullah Muslim Hall Students’ Union, while Mohammad Mahtap Islam contested for a member post in the DUCSU election.

The organisation has created two new positions, including secretary for July Memorial Preservation and Research and secretary for Political Education Study Circle appointing Mofassel Haque and Omar Faruk respectively to the posts.

Other members of the committee are senior vice-president Rashed Khan Adib; vice-president Sumaiya Mostary Risti; organising secretary Rakib Hosen Gazi; senior joint general secretary Imran Sadman; joint general secretary Md Nazim Uddin; assistant organising secretary Fatema Tuz Samia; office secretary Rakibul Alam Rudro; and assistant office secretary Abdullah Noman.
