A man allegedly took his own life at his residence in Mohammadpur area of Dhaka on early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Swapan Mia, 25, son of Bazlu Mia of Lalmohon upazila of Bhola district and he used to live with his wife in a rented house at Chandrima Model Town Road of Mohammadpur.
His wife Tania Begum said that Swapan went to his room and locked the door after an argument between them over family issues at about 1:00am.
When Tania broke the door open she found that his body was hanging from a ceiling fan, she said.
Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 2:30am where physicians declared him dead on arrival.
Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the hospital police outpost, said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue and Mohammadpur police have been informed.
