
Girls this year have outshone the boys in the pass rate of the Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent examinations in continuation of the trend in the past 14 years beginning in 2010.
This year, compared with the boys, 8.37 per cent more girls have passed from all the 11 education boards, while 4,991 more girls, in comparison with the boys, achieved the highest Grade Point Average of 5.
In all the education boards, comprising nine general boards, one madrassah board and a technical education board, girls did better than boys in the pass rate.
According to the result published on Thursday, 62.97 per cent of the girls and 54.6 per cent of the boys passed the examinations in the combined result.
Regarding securing GPA 5, total 37,044 girls achieved the result while 32,053 boys achieved the same.
Only in the madrassah board, more boys secured GPA 5 than girls this year.
