MTB Foundation, under its project titled ‘Creating Alternative Livelihood for Vulnerable Fishing Communities through Income Generating Activities’, has distributed livelihood asset grants among households from vulnerable fishing communities in Lalpur union and Chandpur Pourasabha of Chandpur district.

The foundation distributed materials for poultry farming, homestead gardening, and small businesses under the program, said a press release on Monday, 


These IGAs will be driven by the female family members of the fishermen who will take the activities forward to create an income source throughout the year during the fishing ban periods.

MTB Foundation chief executive officer Samia Chowdhury, foundation associate Golam Rabbani, and Nazrul Smriti Sangsad executive director Shahabuddin Panna attended the event. Â
