The Bangladesh Navy rescued 26 fishermen from the trawler MV Tajminur Rahman, which suffered an engine breakdown about 27 nautical miles off the Cox鈥檚 Bazar lighthouse.

Navy sources reported that a trawler鈥檚 unusual movements prompted a navy ship to approach it.
Upon closer inspection, navy members noticed the distress signals from the fishermen on board. The navy promptly rescued the stranded fishermen, providing them with food, water and first aid.
The rescued fishermen and their trawler were safely brought ashore by the navy ship, where they were reunited with their families and owners.
The fishermen explained that their trawler鈥檚 engine had malfunctioned on October 3, 2025, leaving them adrift at sea after a fishing trip that began on September 30.
