Bangladesh Football Federation president Tabith Awal and BFF Women’s Wing chairperson Mahfuza Akhter Kiron have been appointed as members of two key committees of world football governing body, FIFA.

Tabith has been named to the FIFA Football Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation Committee, while Kiron has been appointed to the FIFA Youth Girls’ Competitions Committee.

The tenure of the newly formed committees will continue until 2029.

This is the first time that Tabith has been included in any FIFA committee, which is a significant milestone in his football administration career.

On the other hand, Kiron has previously served as a member of FIFA’s executive committee, as well as on various other FIFA standing committees, reflecting her long-standing involvement in global football governance.

According to the Bangladesh Football Federation, this time the nominations for these two committees were made directly by FIFA, unlike in previous years when names were usually sent by the federation upon FIFA and AFC’s request.

During Kazi Salahuddin’s time as BFF president, nominations were often forwarded without formal discussion in BFF’s board meetings.
