Members of Bangladesh Army recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from a den of United People Democratic Front in Khagrachhari district on early Monday.

According to an Inter Service Public Relations media release, based on intelligence report, an army team conducted the drive in the dense forest of Yuboneshwar Para in Panchhari upazila at about 5:00am on Monday.


Sensing presence of the army personnel, UPDF鈥檚 top local group commander Suman Chakma fled.

Later, one pistol, one magazine, two rounds of ammunition, fifteen banners, two walkie-talkie chargers, two mobile phones, sharp weapons, and various other equipment used by UPDF armed members were recovered from the den, it reads.

The army will continue operations to arrest the fugitive UPDF members in different areas of the Hill Tracts to ensure the safety of local residents.
