 
                             The Election Commission will hold a session with media personnel tomorrow to exchange views with them as part of its ongoing dialogue with reform stakeholders ahead of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.
The dialogue, which began on September 28 with discussions with civil society representatives and academics, would continue throughout October, including sessions with political parties, women leaders and July Fighters.聽
Chief election commissioner AMM Nasiruddin will聽 preside over the dialogue, with the election commissioners in attendance.
The current commission assumed office in November 2024 and has already undertaken a series of preparatory measures, including updating the voter list, amending the Representation of the People Order, revising the electoral code of conduct, and introducing amendments to nine existing laws.
According to the EC secretariat, preparations remained under way to ensure free, fair, and credible elections.
New measures include IT-supported postal voting for expatriates, and arrangements for voting by those on election duty, prisoners, and government officials stationed away from their constituencies.
EC officials said that the stakeholder dialogues were part of the road map announced on August 28 aimed at facilitating free, fair, and peaceful elections.
In its announcement, the commission said that all necessary laws and regulations for holding credible elections had been updated and modernised as needed, with trained personnel in place to manage the electoral process.
