Jasim Uddin, former Senior vice-president of Cumilla Metropolitan Bangladesh Nationalist Party and ex-general secretary of the city BNP passed away at a hospital in Dhaka Thursday noon. He was 56.
BNP leader Sabera Alauddin confirmed the news of his death at around 2:00pm.
Jasim suffered a brain stroke at his Cumilla residence on September 29, followed by a cardiac arrest. He was later shifted to Dhaka as his condition deteriorated and died while undergoing treatment.
He is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter.
