Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence聽 Party director general Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud visited Uttara Sarbajanin Temple in the capital on Wednesday.
During the visit, he observed the overall security arrangements of the temple and spoke to the Ansar-VDP members on duty, said a press release.
In his speech, the DG said, 鈥楤angladesh is a country of sectarian harmony. Ansar-VDP is taking maximum vigilance so that Sharadiya Durga Puja, one of the main religious festivals of the Hindu community, is celebrated with enthusiasm and participation of everyone.鈥�
He further mentioned that any attempt to create chaos around Durga Puja in different parts of the country had already been thwarted with the joint efforts of Ansar-VDP and other law enforcement agencies.
He also expressed his strong belief that this activity will continue in the future.
