BRAC Bank, in collaboration with Bangladesh Open Source Network, has organised a three-day training programme in Narsingdi for 30 women entrepreneurs, equipping them with digital skills to accelerate business growth.Â
The training took place from September 9 to 11 at the bank’s Cooperative Zonal Institute, said a press release on Tuesday.
It offered intensive mentorship, training, and networking opportunities to help participants scale their ventures, reach wider markets, and inspire other women to pursue entrepreneurship.Â
Organised under Amrai TARA — BRAC Bank’s flagship women entrepreneurship initiative supported by the Gates Foundation — the programme aims to strengthen business acumen and foster long-term empowerment through access to finance, mentorship, and market linkages.
BdOSN experts guided participants in digital strategies to tap into fast-growing platforms such as e-commerce, social media commerce, and other emerging channels.
Additional managing director and head of SME Banking at BRAC Bank, Syed Abdul Momen said that women entrepreneurs are powerful drivers of inclusive economic growth, and when they succeed, communities prosper and the national economy gains strength.Â
So far, BRAC Bank has provided skill development training to more than 3,000 women entrepreneurs across 20 districts and aims to expand the programme to women entrepreneurs in all districts.
BdOSN president Munir Hasan and BRAC Bank’s head of Cottage and Micro Business of SME Banking, Kazi Dilruba Akter, were also present at the event.
