US-based defender Zayyan Ahmed was named in the 28-member preliminary squad for Bangladesh鈥檚 AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers against Hong Kong in October.
Javier Cabrera鈥檚 charges will start training today in Dhaka as听they host Hong Kong on October 9 at the National Stadium, Dhaka, before their return leg in Hong Kong on October 14.听
Left-back Zayyan also played for the Under-23 side in the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers in Vietnam earlier this month.
Hamza Chowdhury and Shamit Shome, who missed the friendly against Nepal, will join the squad on October 6 and 7, respectively.
Shakil Ahad Topu, Mehedi Hasan Srabon, Sheikh Morsalin and Al-Amin also returned to the squad after missing out from the friendly in Nepal as they were busy playing in the U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Forward Arman Faysal Akash was also recalled.
Issa Faisal, Pappu Hossain, Arif Hossain and Papon Singh, who were part of the Bangladesh squad for the Nepal friendly were dropped.
Earlier, in the qualifiers Bangladesh managed a goalless draw against India in Shillong, and lost 2-1 to Singapore at home in June.
However, a total of 19,000 tickets 鈥� 18,000 general gallery and 1000 clubhouse 鈥� for the match were sold out within 24 minutes after the sale began online platform at 2:00pm on Sunday.
鈥業t took only 24 minutes to sell out all the general gallery and clubhouse tickets. The selling process was smooth, 鈥橞angladesh Football Federation competition committee member Tajwar Awal told the reports.
The BFF is yet to take any decision on the other category tickets sell.听
