Mabia, who won gold medals in the 2016 and 2019 SA Games, lifted 118kg in clean and jerk and 92kg in snatch for a total of 210kg to set up the record in the championship.
The country’s top female lifter, Mabia, earlier, in the previous edition of the championships, lifted 116kg in clean and jerk and 89kg in snatch for a record total of 205kg in the same weight category.
‘I have lifted five kg more than the previous edition…I always try to exceed myself and want to make records so that people remember me for a long time,’ said the 25-year-old lifter.
