A fire that broke out on Saturday at the power grid station at Binapota of Sadar in Satkhira district left the entire district out of power supply for three and a half hours.
The fire occurred at about 11:00am when a transformer at the grid station exploded, said Russell Islam, in charge of the Satkhira grid line.
Two firefighting units extinguished the fire after about an hour.
Preliminary assessments by the firefighters pointed to an electrical short circuit for the fire.
The power supply resumed at about 2:30 pm, officials said.
