Children depicted their imagination on walls in a nine-day solo interactive art exhibition titled ‘A Drawing Room’ that concluded at La Galerie of Alliance Française de Dhaka in Dhanmondi on Wednesday.
Artist and children’s book illustrator Hridita Anisha displayed artworks depicting birds, trees, flowers, cats, fishes and her childhood memories at the exhibition and the audience, comprising mostly children, drew on walls after watching the displayed artworks, which reflected the artist’s childhood.
The children drew animals, trees, friends and playgrounds on the walls of the venue, which was designed as a drawing room.
The exhibition was inaugurated on September 9.
‘A drawing room is a place where anyone can draw a picture without caring about how it looks. I work as a researcher and observe what children love to draw,’ said Hridita, adding that children keep their creations without any discomfort at the drawing rooms of their homes.
Hridita Anisha, an alumnus of the oriental art department of Dhaka University, spent the past five years researching children’s art and working with children’s book publishers.
