The Bangladesh Bank began a two-day seminar on Cashless Bangladesh Initiative in Rajshahi on Wednesday, with BRAC Bank serving as the lead bank, to promote digital transactions and enhance financial awareness.

The first day of the event was held at Rajshahi Kara Training Academy Auditorium and the second day鈥檚 event will be held at Rajshahi University.


Businesspeople, customers, students, bank officials and others joined the programme.

Divisional commissioner of Rajshahi Khondoker Azim Ahmed was present as chief guest.

Bangladesh Bank head office executive director Md Arief Hossain Khan, director Md Sharafat Ullah Khan and BRAC Bank managing director and chief executive officer Tareq Refat Ullah Khan attended as special guests.

The session was presided over by Bangladesh Bank head office director Rafeza Akhter Kanta.

BRAC Bank deputy managing director and COO Sabbir Hossain was also in attendance.

The programme featured extensive sessions on digital financial services, supported by promotional campaigns and roadshows designed to raise awareness and drive customer adoption.

Particular emphasis was placed on the speed, convenience, and security of cashless transactions as enablers of financial inclusion across the country.
