
Mobile operator Robi Axiata PLC has won the BBR Corporate Award 2025 in the telecommunications category in recognition of its performance and contribution to the sector, said a press release.
The award was presented at the international conference on The Future of Business: Innovation, Technology and Sustainability, organised by the Bureau of Business Research at the University of Chittagong鈥檚 Faculty of Business Administration.
The ceremony, held at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View on Monday, featured Sheikh Bashir Uddin, adviser to the commerce ministry, as chief guest. He handed over the award to Md Iftekharul Alam, senior regional head (Chattogram North) of Robi Axiata PLC. University of Chittagong vice-chancellor Professor Muhammad Yeahia Akhter was also present.
Robi, the second largest mobile network operator in the country, is majority owned by Malaysia-based Axiata Group Berhad with 61.82 per cent shares. India鈥檚 Bharti Airtel holds 28.18 per cent, while the remaining 10 per cent is owned by public shareholders.
The company said it had continued investing in telecom infrastructure to expand digital connectivity across Bangladesh, positioning itself as a key player in the country鈥檚 growing digital ecosystem.
