
Mohammedan Sporting Club and Bashundhara Kings have been placed in Group B of the 10-team Federation Cup that will be played at two venues across the country from September 23, 2025, to April 10, 2026.
The draw ceremony of the tournament was held at the Bangladesh Football Federation on Saturday, five days before Mohammedan and Kings face off against each other in the season鈥檚 curtain raiser, the Bangladesh Challenge Cup 2025.
The Challenge Cup match between the Bangladesh Premier League champions Mohammedan and the Federation Cup champions Kings is scheduled to be held at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla on September 19.
Apart from Mohammedan and Kings, Fortis Football Club, Police Football Club and promoted Arambagh Krira Sangha are other teams of Group B.
Meanwhile, Group A comprises the 12-time champions Abahani Limited, Brothers Union, Fakirerpool Young Men鈥檚 Club, Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society and the promoted Public Works Department Sports Club.
All the group stage matches will be held on each Tuesday of the week in Cumilla and at the Kings Arena in the city.
Each team will face each other once in the group stage, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the super-four stage to play the qualifiers and eliminator matches.
The two group champions will play the first qualifier, and the winning team will get direct entry to the final, while the winners of the play-off qualifier will book the other spot in the final.
The play-off qualifier will be played between the losing team of the first qualifier against the winners of the eliminator match, which will be played between the two group runners-up.
Later the draw, five individuals and one club received awards for their mark in the previous edition of the BPL and BCL in the ceremony.
Mohammedan coach Alfaz Ahmed received the BPL鈥檚 best coach award, while his team鈥檚 Malian forward, Souleymane Diabate, received the player of the league award.
聽Rahmatganj MFS鈥檚 Ghanaian forward Samuel Boateng received the top scorer鈥檚 award, while Abahani鈥檚 Mitul Marma received the best goalkeeper award of the league.
Police FC won the Fair Play Trophy award, while PWD SC midfielder Minhajul Karim Shadhin received the top scorer award of BCL.
