Despite multiple investigations have already confirmed an incident of question leak at Saleha Ishak Government Girls’ High School in Sirajganj, no action has yet been taken against the accused teachers.

Instead, those implicated continue to hold their positions at the school.

The controversy began on July 1 this year, during the fourth-grade monthly examination on subject Islam.

Before the test, Islamic studies teacher Md Kamruzzaman reportedly conducted a model test at his private coaching centre named Jaman Coaching, where he allegedly distributed the original question paper in advance to selected students.

The matter quickly sparked outrage among parents when several guardians submitted written complaints to the school’s principal, and to deputy commissioner Muhammad Nazrul Islam who also chairs the school’s governing body.

Their complaint accused for the offence mathematics teacher Saman Ali Sheikh, Bangla teachers Zahid Hasan and Lily Khatun, biology teacher Moshab Kakka, physics teacher Taimur Hasan, and Islamic studies teacher Kamruzzaman.

Following the complaints, the district administration and education department officials carried out separate investigations.

Their reports confirmed the question leak and recommended disciplinary action, including transferring Kamruzzaman to the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education.

Saying that the accused teachers were influential, headmaster Md Afsar Ali said, ‘Even though investigations proved the allegations, no action has been taken.’

He also alleged that he himself faced harassment from some of the accused when he questioned them.

District education officer Md Abdul Jabbar acknowledged the matter, saying, ‘Multiple investigations into question leaks and private coaching have been conducted. We are embarrassed that no action has been taken yet.’

Deputy commissioner Muhammad Nazrul Islam told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· on Thursday that the allegations were proven and the probe report was sent to the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education for punitive steps.

Denying the allegations, accused teacher Kamruzzaman said, ‘I do not operate any coaching centre called Jaman Coaching’.

Another accused, physics teacher Taimur Hasan told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ·, ‘These allegations are baseless’.

Parents, meanwhile, continue to demand swift and strict action, warning that prolonged inaction would undermine the school’s educational environment.
