Former Dhaka University Students Union vice president and聽 freedom fighter ASM Abdur Rob on Friday said that the main motto of the students should be to聽 pursue their education properly and at the same time work for implementing dreams of the country鈥檚 common people.
His remarks came when the newly formed central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student front of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD met party president ASM Abdur Rob at his Uttara resident.
He said that the aim of student organisations must not be to serve the purposes of their political parties but to serve people.
JSD general secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon expressed dissatisfaction over the victory of Bangladesh Chhatra Shibir in the Tuesday DUCSU election, saying that political parties must think about the growing rise of Islamist forces in educational institutions.
Party鈥檚 senior vice president Tania Rob, Chhatra League faction leaders Nahid Hasan Rimon, Mohammad Ruban Akram, Asiful Islam Hasan and others attended the programme.
