Photography students of Aalor Ishkool have depicted the everyday life of musical instrument makers of Manidash Para in Manikganj district in a group photography exhibition under way at Bishwa Sahitya Kendra.

The ten-day photography exhibition titled ‘Melody Weaved Life’ has been curated by K M Jahangir Alam.


It comprises 65 photographs captured by the students who have completed the photography course at Aalor Ishkool, which is run by Bishwa Sahitya Kendra.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the trustee of Bishwa Sahitya Kendra, Professor Mohammad Ali Naqi, on Thursday.

The photography course director Mir Shamsul Alam Baboo, exhibition curator K M Jahangir Alam and coordinator Mesbah Uddin Ahmed Sumon spoke at the inaugural ceremony chaired by the Kendra director Shamim Al Mamun.

The community of musical instrument makers of Manidash Para in Manikganj district comprises about 35 families making musical instruments like harmonium, dhol, khol, tabla and diverse types of drums.

K M Jahangir Alam said that 101 students were admitted to the course, while 65 students completed the course, and their best works have been displayed at the exhibition to depict the story of the community of musical instrument makers.

The exhibition will remain open until September 20.
