Dhaka division has the highest unemployed people of 6.87 lakh people Mymensingh division the least unemployed people of 1.04 lakh, according to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
Chattogram has the second highest of unemployed people of 5.84 lakh among the country鈥檚 eight divisions, said the BBS in its final version of the Labour Force Survey-2024 released on Thursday.
The country鈥檚 total unemployed people are 26.24 lakh with 18 lakh male and 8.24 lakh female.
Rajshahi has the unemployed population of 3.75 lakh while that of Khulna 3.3 lakh, Sylhet 2.16 lakh, Rangpur 2.06 lakh and Barisal 1.39 lakh.
Earlier, BBS released the key fininds of the Labour Force Survey 2024 in December 2024.
It its fin final report, BBS said around 20 lakh or 8.07 per cent from previous 19.4 lakh, or 7.2 per cent are unemployed youths.
Of the unemployed youth, 28.77 per cent completed higher education and 22.18 per cent secondary education.
