
Leaders of the Ganatantra Mancha, a combine of six political parties, on Wednesday called on political parties to be united for implementing the reform proposals of the interim government.
They made the call at a discussion organised by the Mancha at the Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital.
Addressing the discussion, Nagarik Oikya president Mahmudur Rahman Manna said that the political parties should reach a consensus and give time to the national consensus commission so that they could pass the reform proposals.
Revolutionary Workers Party general secretary Saiful Huq said that the political parties should remain united until the implementation of the reform proposals.
Ganosamhati Andolan聽executive coordinator Abul Hassan Rubel said that the democratic transition would be easier if the reform proposals were implemented through the consensus of political parties.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD general secretary Sahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon called on the interim government to ensure a legal basis for the reform proposals.
Presided over by Rastra Sanskar Andolan chief coordinator Hasnat Quaiyum, the discussion was addressed, among others, by Bhashani Onusari Parishad central leader Abu Yusuf Selim and Rastra Sanskar Andolan central leader Didarul Bhuiyan.
