Bangladesh earned a consolation 4-1 win over Singapore in their Group C final of the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers match at the Viet Tri Stadium in Vietnam on Tuesday.
After a barren first half, substitute forwards Fahamedul Islam (70th) and Al Amin (72nd), and midfielders Mohsin Ahmed (80th) and Shekh Morsalin (82nd) scored once each within a span of 12 minutes for Bangladesh.
Singapore鈥檚 substitute forward Khairin Nadim Rahim pulled one goal back by scoring in the first minute of the injury time.
Bangladesh and Singapore both were eliminated from the qualifiers race earlier the day鈥檚 match as the 11 group winners and the four best-ranked runners-up teams from the 44 teams will join the final event in January 2026.
Bangladesh saw them finish third at the table as they earlier conceded 2-0 against hosts Vietnam before 1-0 defeat to Yeomen while bottom-placed Singapore suffered 2-1 and 1-0 defeats to Yemen and Vietnam respectively.
This was the seventh time Bangladesh ended up their campaign at the group stage of the competition since 2013 and only the second time finished the third in four team group after March 2019.
