
Border Guard Bangladesh personnel in a raid detained a man along with 2 pieces of gold bars worth Tk聽 34,54,452 at Rajarhat Bus Stand in Jashore on Thursday.
Lieutenant Colonel Saifullah Siddiqui, commanding officer, 49 Border Guard Battalion, said that the detained, Badsha Sheikh, 25, was a resident of Podomdi village under Baliakandi in Rajbari.
The man who was carrying gold bars from Dhaka was going to Satkhira frontier to smuggle out the gold to India on Thursday, he added.
Badsha Sheikh was handed over to Jashore Kotwali police and the gold to the treasury.
