Banophool Adibashi Green Heart College and Banophool Adibashi Foundation Trust jointly organised a programme to felicitate Buddhist monk Ven Prajnananda Mahathera at the college in Dhaka on Tuesday.

He was felicitated on the occasion of receiving the ‘Mother Teresa Golden Award-2025’ for his contribution to the education and social reform, said a press release.


Presided over by rector of the college Professor Tarun Kanti Barua, principal of the college Sanjoy Kumar Dhar, teacher representative of the governing body assistant professor Md Zakidul Islam, lecturer Mustakiya Mahmuda Parvin discussed various aspects of life of Prajnananda Mahathera at the programme.

Ven Prajnananda Mahathera came to the Parbatya Chattal Bauddha Anath Ashram as a sheltered orphan in 1966 and took charge as general secretary of the ashram in 1974.

Since then, along with five like-minded Buddhist monks, he has established renowned educational institutions like the Anath Ashram Abashik High School, DharModoy Pali College, Rangapani Milan Vihara, Moanoghar Volunteer Organisation, Moanoghar Shishu Sadan, Moanoghar Residential School, Monghor Pali College, Banophool Shishu Sadan and Banophool Adibashi Green Heart College.
