The existing committee of the Bangladesh Sammilita Peshajibi Parishad, a platform of pro-BNP professionals, has been formally dissolved, and a new preparatory committee has been announced to organise the organisation's council within the next 90 days.聽
Bangladesh Nationalist Party senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement in a statement on Monday.聽
The now-dissolved committee was previously led by BNP standing committee member and personal physician to Khaleda Zia, AZM Zahid Hossain, who served as convener. Kader Gani Chowdhury, a leader of the Dhaka Union of Journalists, held the post of member secretary.
According to the BNP statement, a new preparatory committee has been formed, headed by Ismail Zabiullah, a member of the BNP chairperson's advisory committee.
This body will be responsible for organising the upcoming council and conference of the parishad within the stipulated 90-day timeframe.
The preparatory committee included professionals from a range of sectors, reflecting the broad representation within the organisation.
