The electrical and electronic engineering department of Gono Bishwabidyalay held a Fusion Festival at the university at Savar in Dhaka on Sunday.
Vice-chancellor of the university Professor Md Abul Hossain was present as chief guest at the festival, said a press release.
Dean of the faculty of veterinary and animal sciences Professor Md Zahirul Islam Khan, dean of the faculty of science and engineering Professor Md Nurul Islam and registrar Md. Ohiduzzaman were present as special guests at the event.
At the beginning of the event, nine engineering projects, including mosquito killer, sun tracking solar home automation and smart security system and using micro controller and automatic touch less water tap, made by the students of the department, were exhibited.
Professor Abul Hossain distributed prizes among the project winners.
Later, the new students were welcomed with flowers and the outgoing students were felicitated.
Speaking to the students, the speakers said that EEE was the right place to showcase engineering innovations.
The programme was presided over by the head of the electrical and electronic department, Samsi Ara.
