Southeast University has recently organised a workshop titled Academic Supply Chain Management and Its Effect on Student Employability at the Multipurpose Hall of the university in Dhaka, fostering academic excellence and preparing students to meet the challenges of the 21st-century global workforce.

The workshop brought together academicians to address the critical intersection of education, supply chain management and graduate employability, said a press release on Sunday.

The programme was facilitated by East West University vice-chancellor Professor Shams Rahman, a renowned scholar and expert in supply chain management.

He highlighted how academic approaches to supply chain systems could directly influence the employability of students in an increasingly competitive job market.

The workshop was chaired by Southeast University VC Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam.

He emphasised the importance of aligning academic curricula with industry demands to enhance students’ career readiness and professional skills.

Speaking on the occasion, the facilitators and participants underscored the need for universities to adopt innovative teaching strategies and develop industry-relevant programmes to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical workplace requirements.
