The National Board of Revenue has transferred 225 tax inspectors from different tax zones to its offices elsewhere across Bangladesh on Wednesday.
The Tax Administration-2 wing of NBR issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday, which was signed by second secretary of the board Md Anisul Islam.
According to the circular, the listed tax inspectors of the Income Tax Department have been reassigned to the workplaces mentioned and the order would take immediate effect.
Following the month-long protests against the restructuring of the NBR that ended on June 29, a major reshuffle happened, taking the number of transferred officials to some 400, including the latest 225.
NBR officials, however, claimed earlier that the transfers were regular procedures after the budget declaration and started since July.
In the aftermath of the protest against the restructuring of the revenue board and other issues in June, some 32 NBR officials got suspension order.
Moreover, four senior tax officials were also sent into early retirement and 16 officials were brought under the Anti-Corruption Commission scrutiny.
