
Chittagong Hill Tracts affairs adviser Supradip Chakma at a workshop in Dhaka on Monday called on the government officials to adopt the mentality of public servants.
‘We have been appointed for public service. Therefore, everyone should always have a service mentality,’ he said as chief guest at the training workshop held at the seminar room of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Heritage Conservation and Research Centre on Bayley Road.
The workshop was organised as training on analysing the need for implementing the national dashboard under the joint initiative of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and A2i, said a press release.
Adviser Supradip Chakma said, ‘To create our advantage, we need to know how to use modern technology. We want to modernise the Chittagong Hill Tracts Complex building and build an information hub where anyone from home and abroad can get information about the products produced in the hill tracts.’
He has also said that organic fruits of the Chittagong Hill Tracts such as mountain mango, pineapple, banana and dragon fruit are now being produced more than before and there are plans to spread them domestically and abroad.
‘We want to introduce chemical-free fruits of the CHT to the international market he mentioned.
Supradip Chakma said, ‘The people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts also want to be equal partners in the thoughts and consciousness of the larger population of the country. Our heritage, resources and potential can be part of national development.’
In the chairman’s speech, secretary of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Md Abdul Khalek said, ‘Everything should be at hand. Through the dashboard, we can always stay updated about our activities.’
He emphasised on being aware of the rules and regulations of government jobs.
