Bangladesh national cricket team will play a white-ball series against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates in October, stated the Afghanistan Cricket Board on Sunday.

The series will consist of three T20Is and an equal number of ODIs, to be held after the Asia Cup.

‘This tour highlights the strength of our partnership and our joint commitment to delivering world-class cricket experiences, even in neutral venues,’ said ACB chief executive Naseeb Khan.

The series will begin with the T20I series, with the first match scheduled on October 2, followed by the next two matches on October 3 and 5, respectively.

The ODI series will start on October 8, with the remaining two matches scheduled for October 11 and 14.

‘We look forward to taking on Afghanistan in what promises to be a competitive and exciting white-ball series in the UAE.’ said Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury on Sunday.

‘This tour not only presents valuable competition following the Asia Cup but also reflects the mutual respect and strong relationship between our two cricket boards.’

The series will be held right after the Asia Cup, which is also scheduled in the UAE from September 9 to 28, featuring eight teams in the T20 format.Ìý

Both the teams are set to face each other in the Group ‘B’ match on September 16 in the prestigious tournament.

Bangladesh last played an ODI series against Afghanistan in November last year, which they lost 2-1.

Currently, the Tigers are preparing for the upcoming three-match T20I series against the Netherlands, starting in Sylhet on August 30.
