
Jamuna Bank PLC has been recognised among the top 10 sustainable banks of 2024 by the Bangladesh Bank, said a press release.
Jamuna Bank managing director and chief executive officer Mirza Elias Uddin Ahmed received certificate and crest in this regard from BB governor Ahsan H Mansur in an event on Wednesday.
Among others, BB deputy governor Nurunnahar, Sustainable Finance Department director Chowdhury Liakat Ali and Jamuna Bank senior vice-president Mohammad Prashanta Samir were present.
This marks the third consecutive year in a row that the bank received the recognition in acknowledgment of its sustainable and green financing initiatives, robust financial foundation, expanded service network and diversified CSR programmes aimed at improving the quality of life of marginalised communities, the release said.
Expressing his gratitude, Mirza Elias Uddin Ahmed said, ‘Jamuna Bank’s sustainable and eco-friendly initiatives are not only a testament to our social responsibility but also a well-planned strategy to strengthen the bank’s financial foundation.
