
Khulna University’s architecture discipline and Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish an academia-industry nexus aimed at fostering practical learning opportunities for students and enhancing academic excellence.
The signing ceremony took place at the conference room of the university’s administrative building in Khulna on Tuesday, said a press release on Thursday.
Professor Md Noor Un Nabi, treasurer of Khulna University, and Abul Kasem Mohammad Sadeque Nawaz, chief business officer, sales and marketing, Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
The event was attended by Professor SM Mahbubur Rahman, acting registrar of Khulna University; Professor Rumana Asad, head of the architecture discipline; Professor Sheikh Sirajul Hakim; associate professors Md Sheikh Maruf Hossain, SM Nazimuddin and Shibu Prasad Basu; Shabbir Ahmed, general sales manager, corporate sales and service of Berger Paints; Md Ata I Muneer, general sales manager, retail sales and marketing; along with faculty members and officials from both institutions.
Following the MoU signing, the Berger Paints delegation paid a courtesy call on Professor Md Rezaul Karim, vice-chancellor of Khulna University.
The VC remarked that such collaborations will not only enrich students’ professional knowledge and skills but also contribute to building an academic environment of international standard.
He also called upon Berger Paints to expand the scope of future collaborations.
