The government has constituted the National Pay Commission appointing former finance secretary Zakir Ahmed Khan as its full time chairman alongside three members for a tenure of six months, officials said.

The public administration ministry issued four separate notifications over their appointments while the one related to Khan said that he would serve with the status of an appellate division judge of the Supreme Court.

According to the notifications the commission was formed on Tuesday night with its three other members being former secretary Mohammad Ali Khan, former ambassador M Fazlul Karim and former controller general of accounts M Moslem Uddin.

The three members’ assignments too would be regarded as full time services, requiring them to relinquish their current professions or businesses or services for government, semi-government entities or private institutions or organisations.
