An eight-day woodblock printmaking workshop titled ‘Multi-Layered Woodblock Printmaking Workshop’ conducted by internationally acclaimed artist and art educator Professor Anisuzzaman is under way at Safiuddin Shilpalay.

The workshop, organised by Safiuddin Ahmed Printmaking Studio and participated by 30 young artists from across the country, was inaugurated on Wednesday.


‘Safiuddin Printmaking Studio regularly organises workshops and exhibitions to promote printmaking. This workshop will feature the technique From Darkness to Light,’ said Safiuddin Printmaking Studio co-ordinator MFI Mazumder Shakil. 

‘The studio promotes not only students of art institutes but also artists from different backgrounds who want to practice printmaking,’ said Safiuddin Shilpalay founder Ahmed Nazir.

On the opening day, Professor Anisuzzaman demonstrated a presentation titled When Guanlan Meets Dhaka at the workshop while his six prints were also displayed at the gallery.

The outcome of the workshop will be displayed on the closing day of the workshop at the venue.

The workshop will end on August 27.
