The Bangladesh Election Commission is set to publish the draft list of polling centres for the forthcoming 13th parliamentary elections on September 10.
The commission sent a circular to field offices in this connection on Wednesday.
According to the circular, the draft list must be made public in line with electoral regulations, which require polling centres to be finalised and published in the Bangladesh Gazette at least 25 days before the election schedule is announced.
The draft would be prepared on the basis of polling centre establishment guidelines, and claims or objections regarding the proposed locations would be received and settled accordingly before the final list is announced.
As per the EC decision, objections and claims on the draft list could be submitted until September 25, while the deadline for resolving them would be October 12.
The final list of polling centres is expected to be published on October 20.
For the 13th parliamentary elections, the number of potential polling centres has been estimated at 45,098 with 2,80,564 polling booths.
The figures were disclosed in a recent meeting on the preparations of polling officer panels and the monitoring of training activities.
In the previous 12th parliamentary elections, there were 42,148 polling centres and 2,61,564 booths, serving nearly 11.97 crore registered voters.
Following the completion of the updated voter list for 2025, the number of voters is projected to reach about 12.79 crore, including all citizens born till January 1, 2008.
