Bangladesh national football team head coach Javier Cabrera was open to his critics, who blamed the Spaniard for Bangladesh’s 2-1 loss to Singapore in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers in Dhaka on June 10.
The executive member of the Bangladesh Football Federation Sayeed Hassan Kanan recently pointed his finger at Cabrera for the loss, while Shakhawat Hossain Bhuiya Shahin demanded his resignation.
‘I respect all the opinions,’ Cabrera replied to a query during the national team’s training at the National Stadium on Wednesday.
When he was asked about what the BFF said about the issue, he replied, ‘I have had several meetings with different members of the management of the BFF. And they shared their opinions, and I shared my opinions. It's normal that some of them agree with me, and some disagree.’
Cabrera called up 24 players for the camp before their international friendly matches against hosts Nepal on September 6 and 9 as part of their preparation for the AFC qualifiers against Hong Kong in Dhaka on October 9.
As Bashundhara Kings did not release their 10 players for the camp, Cabrera is training with 13 players after the camp started a week before and on Wednesday.
‘We have already been training for seven days. We have, as you know, 13 senior players here... Some of them are with the U-23 national team, and some others are staying with Bashundhara Kings. So in order to complete the group, we have called some U-19 players,’ he said.
