A farmer was electrocuted while irrigating his banana field in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Sattar, 50, son of late Sekendar Ali of village Joytindranarayan of the upazila.
Local people said that Sattar went to his banana field around 10:00am and he got electrocuted while trying to operate the irrigation pump.
Phulbari Police Station officer-in-charge Abdus Salam said police were sent to the spot.
