A low-pressure area is likely to form over Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 12 hours commencing 9:00am on Sunday, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

The low-pressure area over South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh Coast now lies over South Chhattisgarh and adjoining area and has become unimportant. The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, centre of the low, Odisha to Assam across North Bay and southern part of Bangladesh.


Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

Meanwhile, the BMD has forecast light to moderate rain in six divisions, including Dhaka next 24 hours from 9:00am on Sunday.

‘Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,’ according met office updates.  

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
