
Jatiya Party faction led by Anisul Islam Mahmud will take part in the next general election if it is held in a free, fair and credible manner.
The chairman of the party faction, Anisul Islam Mahmud, said it at a press conference at the party鈥檚 central office at Gulshan in the capital on Saturday.
Restoration of democratic rule is impossible without holding election in a credible manner he said.
For holding a credible general election the interim government must improve the law and order situation as it is not possible to hold a credible general election under the present law and order situation, Anisul said.
The Jatiya Party faction was formed on August 9 at 10th national conference of the party in Dhaka where Anisul Islam Mahmud was elected party chairman and ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader secretary general.
Secretary general of the party ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, executive chairman Mujibul Haque Chunnu, co-chairman Syed Abu Hossain Babla, central leaders Sahidur Rahman Tepa, Jahirul Islam Jahir and others attended the press conference.
